Description

During the AI AI Barbie hackathon we develop scenarios and frameworks for responsible smart toys with Stefania Druga (MIT). Her research shows that smart toys influence children's moral choices more than people. This was the reason for SETUP and Waag to take a critical look at the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the relationship between parents and children. Together with Stefania we explore how we can give direction to the role that AI will play in the upbringing of children in a humane way.

In multidisciplinary teams we will work out different scenarios and 'provotypes' (provocative prototypes) for responsible smart toys. We work with the Scratch-based platform Cognimates and various types of hardware. Based on the 'provotypes' that are being developed, we are setting up the new frameworks for responsible use of AI in toys during the public event in the evening.
