Description

Systemic transition towards an inclusive digital society requires a sensitive
transformation of our technological and societal structures to ensure that the
benefits and opportunities of the digital age are accessible to everyone,
regardless of their background or life circumstances. This entails not only
addressing issues like digital literacy and affordable access to technology but
also promoting equitable participation, diversity, and fairness in the core of
digital ecosystems. It requires reimagining policies, infrastructure, and practices
to bridge the digital divide and create a society where every individual can fully
engage, innovate, and thrive in an increasingly digital world, while safeguarding
the safety and security in their digital lives.

There is a long-standing global agreement on “participatory dialogue”1 being the
preferred tool for fostering inclusive society. Systemic co-design promises to
bridge the participatory co-design practices and methods with tools for
traversing and reshaping systemic perspectives needed for achieving the
transition at the large scale. In the discussion panel, we will attempt to unwrap
the involved challenges and opportunities, approached from the diverse,
multidisciplinary perspectives of the panelists and the public.
