Fashion Studies 2 - History

Description

Development of 4 lectures (Dutch & English) for Fashion Studies 2 (year 1, Semester 2 Amfi).

The Fashion Studies Learning Line covers fundamental theories underlying fashion history, fashion as a cultural phenomenon, and fashion production and consumption.

During the second semester, we will investigate fashion history. Karla Olgers
will take you from dress during the prehistorical period to the late medieval period in time. By doing so, she will take you through fashion during the time that precedes the time that was discussed during fashion studies 1.

Maaike Feitsma’s lectures adopt a thematic stance, and she will connect ideas about, (Western) fashion studies, identity, care & repair, and politics
throughout history
