Formal meets informal social work: what can we learn?

Description

In this interactive session, we started by introducing the phenomenon of social shadow work from a research perspective. We then gave the floor to practitioners to present examples of social shadow work and of collaborative practices between formal and informal work.

Next, we invited the audience into the conversation. Topics of discussion were, among others: the advantages and disadvantages of collaboration between formal and informal social work, the thresholds informal practices encounter, the role of religion in social work, and the relationship between informal social work practices and the government.
