Activity: Educational contribution / Supervising student theses, products Educational contribution Educational

Description

This week, Mugdha will introduce the concept and theory of hauntology and how it can be used as a research framework to address complex issues such as colonization and bias in the digital services we use and the digital spaces we occupy. Through the week we will focus on how and why the events and biases of the past affect our lives in the present and eventually the speculations designers make for the future. Within teams, we will explore different methodologies and processes that can be used to implement the hauntological framework in practice using real world cases. At the end of the week, you will have a toolbox of research methods and questions that allow you to critically engage with events of the past and design for resilient and equitable futures.
