This workshop focuses on Niels Henrik Abel (1802-1829). Abel was a Norwegian mathematician who did groundbreaking work in algebra and analysis. In order to get to know him better, we will work in a theatrical way, using historical characters and events, highlighting the human context and the drama that can sometimes surround the practice of mathematics. After a brief introduction to the working method, the participants are invited to contribute to the staging of the play script "So many ideas...". by Gavin Hitchcock, in which Abel's life and work get the attention it deserves. The script contains dialogues, directions and small roles by Euler, Gauss and Lagrange, among others. After completing the script, we will discuss what this special working method has yielded in terms of knowledge about Abel and what other possibilities this working method has to offer.
