Abstract: The Africa Millimetre Telescope is currently being built in Namibia and will be a new node of the Event Horizon Telescope network. Alongside the AMT’s science goals, the project also has an ambitious social impact plan to develop astronomy and STEM participation in Namibia. This includes a Mobile Planetarium which is modelled on the successful NOVA Mobile Planetarium concept in the Netherlands. In this talk I’ll bring you up to speed on this exciting project, the current status and the role of NOVA.
