This NACV Salon was an afternoon program with a keynote talk by me on an explanation how LLMs work and the role of LLMs in higher education, followed by a panel discussion with the following three statements:
1 Using LLMs to write academic papers will stunt students' academic development 2 Generative LLMs will soon liberate teachers from the burden of feedback 3 Monetization of LLM tools will lead to increased inequality across students.
