Moderator of the research working session on "Wet and Dry Cities" under the COE1 Climate Neutral and Resilient Cities.
The session highlighted that “wet” and “dry” challenges occur at different temporal and spatial scales, too dry as a long-term process, too wet as an incident-driven phenomenon. Participants emphasized the need to address these dynamics not only through technical or design interventions but also through social, economic, and financial lenses.
We identified that context matters: geographical, socio-economic, and governance contexts strongly influence local vulnerabilities. There was a shared understanding that multilevel collaboration across government, academia, and community organizations is key.
