Personal profile

Research interests

Due to mediatization, our world is becoming increasingly hybrid: we are continuously involved in a mixture of physical and mediated environments. I believe that ongoing digitalization and the expansion of AI-driven tools and applications will further this process, leading to new (constructions of) realities. This notion of hybrid realities underlies much of what I am working on today.

Within this scope, my research interests include:
Liveness
Media and civic engagement
Media literacy
Media and everyday life
Media and identity
Media and sociality

Ik kan ook in "gewoon Nederlands" uitleggen hoe media werken, en mediatechnologische ontwikkelingen en hun impact op de samenleving duiden.
