Research interests

Dr. Joep Hofhuis is an Associate Professor at Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB), where he specializes in intercultural management and workplace diversity.

In his research, he focuses on the following questions:  

1) How do organizations communicate about workplace diversity and how does this affect their stakeholders?

2) How does intercultural competence relate to individual, team and organizational effectiveness?

3) How can intercultural education contribute to creating the socially responsible and inclusive organizations of the future?

 

Joep is one of the founders and chairs of the division of Intercultural Communication and Diversity (ICD) of the Netherlands-Flanders Communication Association (NeFCA). He is an active member (and former board member) of the International Academy for Intercultural Research (IAIR). He holds a position on the editorial board of the International Journal of Intercultural Relations.
