Abstract
Many living labs encounter difficulties once they move beyond the safe boundaries of their lab and try to come to agreements related to their mutual contributions in a value chain. What happens when a lab tries to take the step towards a real life setting and what does this demand in terms of the collaboration process? How can a value chain approach help to support this process, helping partners to formulate a smart value proposition for external parties? In this workshop we show how a value chain approach offers a governance perspective that clarifies mutual interdependencies of partners. the purpose is to motivate participants to engage in a productive struggle through the hands-on and creative character of a value chain approach. Drawing on our own and participants' experiences, we show how a value chain approach fits social and sustainability challenges.
