Abstract

Although predictive maintenance is indisputable as an integral part of efficient production, it is still seen as an annoying cost factor. This article presents a conceptual model that sheds light on cause-and-effect relationships and reinforcing feedback effects. This creates transparency and understanding and a valuable decision-making aid for production managers in manufacturing companies.
