Abstract

This report shows the results of research on the relation between local and global anchor points in the city of Amsterdam, executed by a small group of international students from Italy and Spain within the scope of two research modules in their Bachelor education at the University of Applied Sciences School of Technology Amsterdam in 2010. The research has been executed as part of wider research on the functional relation between the urban frame - the system of streets square’s and places - and urban anchor points - the system of destinations and urban programs - executed by different students and researchers and coordinated by Prof. Ir. Peter G. de Bois as part of the research programme ‘The City sustainable vital’ of the University of Applied Sciences School of Technology Amsterdam, and at the Delft University of Technology.
